Con Nats

ConNatsCon Nats has been actively writing short stories and short plays since 1996. He has won short story awards for The Rocks, and Just Me. His first short play was The Gate Keeper in 10xl0 (2001). His first full length play, Prodigal John, was part of Carnivale’s Rough, Read and Raw public reading (2004) and the Antipodes Festival’s moved reading programs (2005).

In 2005, Twister featured in Drive Time, at the Crypt Theatre, Balmain, while a radio version, Stuck In A Twist, was presented on ABC Radio’s Night Air production. Haircuts (directed by Con) made the 2009 Movie Extra Gala Final, running second by a point, and was taken to the Edinburgh Festival in August 2009 as part of the Tasty Treats program, and Melbourne (Short and Sweet, November 2009).

Highlights since then include The Pond¸ Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane Short and Sweet Gala Finals in 2012 collecting Best Drama and Best Actor awards; Two Gay Whalers and a Park Bench won the audience vote for Best Play at their Happy Festival. Haircuts, the long play, was a finalist in the Rodney Seaborn Awards 2012, and was invited to be presented at Parnassus Den in May 2013.
